"Stress and Gut"
Food as a support to minimise the effects of sustained stress.
Content
The autonomic nervous system, well known to those of us who work in trauma, has an intimate relationship with other bodily systems.
When dealing with stress (sustained stress for many), the gut-brain axis plays a crucial role.
The vagus nerve innervates a large number of viscera and muscles. Our sympathetic branch prepares the body to respond and many organs suffer.
The gut is much more than an organ of the digestive system. It produces neurotransmitters that are essential for our emotional life, motivating and calming us. It is also part of our immune system.
In this context, this 2-hour training workshop will show us how the vagus nerve and the gut are related and how we can support our body through nutrition in order to minimise the effects of sustained stress.
