Workshop on Clinical Management of Psychotherapy
Workshop on Clinical Management of Psychotherapy
October 31 – November 3, 2026
Liana Netto
Objective
To promote understanding and the development of intrapsychic and interpersonal skills essential for the practice of psychotherapy.
Workshop description
The greatest hallmark of working in clinical psychotherapy lies in the fact that “technique” becomes confessional: we must embody and express the very attitudes we wish to see blossom in our clients. Who we are precedes, fills, and follows the application of any technique, becoming a transversal element of the therapeutic process.
For instance, we will only succeed in repairing dysfunctional relational patterns if we are able to recognize them as they play out within our relational space (metacognition) and communicate with both compassion and clear boundaries.
Neuroscience has brought us, over the past decade, the good news that these capacities are not fixed personality traits, but rather skills that can be taught and trained.
Workshop Program
- Active listening and presence skills
- Effective communication and Nonviolent Communication (NVC)
- Compassionate resonance and dyadic competence (safety, predictability, containment, mirroring)
- Tracking skills: how to better accompany relational and somatic phenomena
- Relational boundaries: building the framework for healthy encounters
