Psychopathology and Self-Regulation Workshop
Psychopathology and Self-Regulation Workshop
March 10-14, 2027
Liana Netto
Objective
To enhance somatic, relational, and cognitive resources for the psychotherapy of anxiety disorders and major depressive disorder in adults.
Workshop description
This workshop offers a technical and somatic approach to psychopathology. It proposes an integrative perspective that allows a deeper understanding of common mental disorders from relational and neurobiological viewpoints, facilitating the identification of warning signs, clinical decision-making, and the enrichment of therapeutic work with somatic and psychoeducational resources.
The aim is to broaden the range of interventions in complex cases such as anxiety, panic, or depression, while also providing diagnostic clarity to support appropriate referrals when needed. Foundational nosological concepts and associated cognitive distortions will be explored, along with specific therapeutic proposals from a somatic perspective.
Contents
- Collaborative factors of resilience and vulnerability in mental health, and their impact on the psychotherapeutic process.
- Nosology of the most frequent anxiety and mood disorders in clinical practice, including the somatic components and cognitive distortions associated with each condition.
- Therapeutic resources for treating PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder), ASD (Acute Stress Disorder), panic disorder, GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder), phobias (social and specific), OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder), and the broader obsessive-compulsive spectrum (including tics and compulsions).
- Exploration of the “anatomy” of depression to reflect on somatic, relational, and psychoeducational treatment approaches.
